A new socialist party for South Australia — fighting for housing, workers' rights, climate action, and free education.
The South Australian Socialist Party was founded because neither Labor nor Liberal represent the interests of ordinary South Australians. While rents soar, wages stagnate, and the climate breaks down, both major parties answer to the same donors.
We believe in a society where housing is a right, not an investment. Where workers share in the profits they create. Where the energy system is publicly owned and the transition is just. Where education is free at every level.
We are building a democratic, member-led party from scratch. Every policy decision is made by members. Every donation is transparent. We take no corporate money.
Become a founding memberBold, concrete policies — not vague promises. Here's exactly what we'll fight for.
Housing is a human right. We will end the crisis through public ownership and rent controls.
The people who do the work should share in its rewards. Full stop.
The climate crisis is a class issue. Those with the least cause it least and suffer most.
An educated population benefits everyone. Education should never be a debt sentence.
We need 200 enrolled South Australian members to register. Be one of our founders.
Anyone who supports our values can become a member. To count toward our official registration with the ECSA, you need to be enrolled to vote in South Australia.
Membership is free while we are building toward registration. Once registered, there will be a small optional suggested contribution — but we will never turn anyone away for inability to pay.
Members vote on policy, elect the leadership, and help with organising, campaigning, and outreach. This is a member-run party — your voice shapes everything we do.
You can absolutely join and be active. Only the formal ECSA registration requires enrolled voters, but there's no age limit on membership or participation.
